Intel's Thunderbolt 5 offers bi-directional transfers of up to 80Gbps and potentially faster transfers in a single direction, with a maximum of 120Gbps in certain scenarios1. This is achieved using Pulse Amplitude Modulation with 3 Levels (PAM-3), which allows for dynamic transfer speeds and increased data transmission.
Thunderbolt 5 can drive multiple 8K displays and up to 4K 540Hz (or 8K 120Hz) refresh rates for hardcore gamers. It also has the capability to support external SSDs, eGPUs, and high-resolution, high-refresh-rate monitors from a single cable at unheard-of levels.
The Razer Blade 18 is currently the only laptop known to feature a Thunderbolt 5 port. However, it is only available in the $4,500 Mercury edition of the laptop2.
