Kroger and Albertsons plan to divest 124 stores in Washington state as part of their proposed $25 billion merger. The divested locations would be owned and operated by New Hampshire-based C&S Wholesale Grocers. This accounts for nearly 40% of the two grocery retailers' stores in the state.

The divestiture plan includes 579 stores across 18 states and Washington, D.C., and aims to preserve competition in local markets where Kroger and Albertsons currently compete.
